Brooklyn meets Bavaria

Brooklyn Meets Bavaria is the tale of two musicians who grew up on opposite ends of the ocean listening to the same music and pursued similar goals in life.
The music is written, performed and recorded by Edgar Haimerl (guitars and organ) Ivy Nugent (keyboards).

Sunrise – Lolo’s Dance

Brooklyn and Bavaria are locations but here in this context they are more like concepts of Life – life experiences, various aspects of the one “dream of the planet” (Miguel Ruiz). The planet is the same in Brooklyn and in Bavaria, life itself is the same – though different at close inspection, or when you are right in the middle of it. People do their day-to-day “dance” in the street from sunrise to sunset and through the night.

Bio-Line

Bio-Line – the path of my life – starts with classical music and pictures of the Bavarian forest. That’s where we went skiing when I was a kid; classical music was the only music at school.

You’ll always feel at home in a landscape similar to the one you grew up in. As I grew older my preferred landscape changed as did my music taste: I got attracted by busy cities, by Rock, Blues and Jazz music.

My Constant Love

Life in Brooklyn, in Bavaria or any other place on this wonderful planet is rooted in a deep love for this life. Many songs sing about love – but most of them sing about the temporary love between people. This song is about the Constant Love, the love for the life on this planet: “ The love for this world is my constant Love”.

Blue Purple

I feel melancholic when I look back at the days of my youth. I grew up in a wonderful house with caring parents. As a teenager I counted the days till I could finally get out of home, of this small town Regensburg. But now, when I come back for a visit I get melancholic when I see the streets I walked at night, the pubs where I drank my first beer(s) with friends.
Written and performed by Edgar Haimerl.

Our Way

This song is a present to my wonderful wife for our 25th wedding anniversary. Our Way is a reference to a quote I wrote about 40 years ago into her poetry book: “Let’s walk at bit of this way together”. We are very lucky and grateful for this journey through such a wonderful life together.
Music and lyrics by Edgar Haimerl.
Performed by Chip Parker (Vocals), Edgar Haimerl (guitars),
